Stockholm to Dover

via the Baltic Sea

In August 2011, we flew overnight to Stockholm, via Chicago. Arriving early morning in Stockholm, we were taken on a two hour bus tour until we could board our cruise ship, OCEANIA's INSIGNIA. The next day we toured around Stockholm on our own, leaving port the second evening.

We went to Helsinki, Finland - St. Petersburg, Russia for three days - Riga, Latvia - Talinn, Estonia - we were supposed to stop at Visby, Sweden but the weather was too bad to use the ship's tenders, so we did not stop - Copenhagen, Denmark - Warnemunde, Germany where Joe took a bus in to spend a day in Berlin - transited the Kiel Canal across the Jutland Peninsula - Amsterdam, Netherlands - Zeebrugge, Belgium - Dover, England where we left the ship.

We went to London for three days and nights to stay with our friends and neighbors from Florida, Charles and Kathryn Halford. They graciously put us up for several nights, fed us, and guided us around London and environs. We are very grateful for their many kindnesses.

The photographs below are a distillation of over 2500 pictures I took over 17 days. Most of the originals have been cropped and enhanced in one way or another. Additionally, I've REDUCED THE SIZE considerably in order to speed up download time. I will happily share my photos with anyone interested. I'll be glad to send you the full sized originals or any modification thereof.
